The Hallway

Sometimes the most uninteresting places at a first glance become the most compelling backgrounds for photography. Don’t be afraid to explore the possibilities of tiny corners, poorly lit spaces or lifeless hallways. This is a great example of an artistic wedding photograph of a groom exiting his apartment on his way to the ceremony:

The pattern on the walls in this hallway creates a feeling of a twilight zone, making the image so much more surreal. If the walls are bare, the carpet may be interesting or the lighting can be perfect. As a wedding photographer you are limited with time, so you want to maximize on your creativity in any given environment. Pay attention to your surroundings, it is very possible to find beauty in pretty much anything. It all depends on how open minded you wish to be.
This particular hallway can be found in Manhattan in one of the condos near the Central Park.
